Following her union with Gary, her beloved husband, the couple embarked on a shared path of spiritual growth, attending Roanoke Bible College (now known as Mid-Atlantic Christian University) in Elizabeth City, NC, where Phyllis earned her associates degree.
Graduating hand in hand, Phyllis and Gary embarked on a ministerial journey, bringing solace and guidance to various churches, including Broadmoor Church of Christ in Chesapeake, VA; Southwest Church of Christ in Barberton, OH; Thrift Road (Westview) Christian Church in Charlotte, NC; Lincolnton Christian Church in Lincolnton, NC; and First Christian Church in Newton, NC.
As life unfolded, Phyllis found herself immersed in diverse roles beyond her pastoral endeavors. She nurtured her family with unwavering love, while also contributing to the workforce with positions such as accounting at Trailways in Charlotte, NC, and later at Carolinas Medical Center. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Clark, and sister, Nerissa Clark.
