Leigha Ness Obituary,  Death – There is simply no way to adequately explain the profound sense of loss that has been felt by so many. Yesterday, Leigha Ness, who was just 5 years old, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Although Leigha had cancer and fought against it effectively, the disease was not what ultimately caused her death. She had just returned from a trip to the zoo with her grandparents a few days before, during which she reported feeling fantastic and having a fantastic time there.

This is the information that her family discussed with us the other day.On June 9th, 2023, Leigha was taken from this world unexpectedly. Since the moment Leigha entered the world, she has always been a fierce competitor. After being born, she was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for 5.5 months, where she was treated for a variety of health complications, including Apraxia and the need for a feeding tube.

She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma when she was just 2 years old, yet she was able to fight the disease in the course of 1 and a half years! The year after that, she came down with a severe case of pneumonia, which ultimately led to the collapse of her left lung. She ultimately had around one quarter of it removed, and after that she was able to make a full recovery.

The incredible fortitude and tenacity with which Leigha dealt with the challenges she faced served as a model for us all. On June 9th, 2023, Leigha went in for her routine CT and MRI scans to make sure she did not have any signs of cancer. Sadly, she passed away during the course of this procedure.”
