Lauri Skribiski Obituary, Death – Lauri (Scott) Skribiski received her wings on June 4, 2023, following a valiant struggle with breast cancer. On December 27, 1968, she was born to James and Marion (Hammond) Scott. She was raised in Buckland and went to Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School and Mohawk Trail Regional High School. She attended Greenfield Community College before transferring to Norwich University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Lauri began her teaching career at Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School, then moved on to Snow’s and Sons Landscaping and, lastly, The Yankee Candle Company, where she worked for 24 years, eventually rising to the position of operations leader at the South Deerfield Distribution Center. Lauri was a gifted athlete throughout high school, excelling in softball, field hockey, and basketball. She kept her love of athletics alive by cheering on all of her nieces and nephews during sporting events.

She adored the beach, especially Siesta Key in Florida, where she could spend hours reclining in the sun and listening to the waves. Lauri treasured her family and the many friends she considered her family. On June 4, 2016, she married the love of her life, John Skribiski. They had a fantastic seven years doing everything together. Lauri would express her love in a variety of ways, including notes placed in a lunch box, cards presented simply to say ‘I love you,’ and a greeting with a kiss every day after work.

They were best friends, soulmates, and a match made in heaven. Lauri was overjoyed to have three stepchildren she adored. Lauri is survived by her husband, Kevin, Keith, and Rachel Skribiski, as well as her mother Marion (Hammond) Scott, sisters Pam Hausenfluck (Alan) and Sherri Avery (Rob), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her father, James Scott, and sister, Terri Ferraguto (Dick), predeceased her.

Wrisley Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, will hold calling hours on Friday, June 16 from 4-8 p.m. There will be no additional services.
