The authorities are also hunting for answers. On June 2nd, the body of the deceased person was discovered in the landfill located on Newby Island. Both the woman’s family and the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office decided to give the deceased woman the name LaToya Renee Covington.

This name was given to the woman after she passed away. According to members of Covington’s family who talked with NBC Bay Area, her body was unrecognizable, and the only way police were able to identify her remains was by her fingerprints. NBC Bay Area reported this information.

Her dead body was discovered in the dumpster, but the official cause of death has not been made public; hence, it is unknown how it came to be in that location. Covington was a mother of three children when she passed away, despite the fact that she did not have a secure place to live.
