Kirk Young Car Accident, Death – On Scalp Avenue in Johnstown, there was a collision that resulted in fatalities, and the victim of that crash was discovered along that street. The collision involved a motorcycle. According to statements made by Jeff Lees, the Cambria County Coroner, Kirk Allen Young, 53, of Windber, was riding his Harley Davidson motorbike eastbound on Scalp Avenue when a car exited from the Dairy Queen parking lot. Young was pronounced dead at the scene.

The young man was killed when he was struck by the car. After Young was struck by the vehicle, it continued driving and ultimately ran over and killed him. Lees claims that the fact that Young was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident caused him to be thrown off the motorcycle in which Young was involved. Young was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The unfortunate event took place on the evening of Saturday, June 10, at approximately 6:30 o’clock in the evening. It wasn’t until it was about 10 o’clock at night that the traffic on Scalp Avenue was allowed to resume. He was transferred to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, but sadly, he did not make it through his stay there, and he passed away some hours later. He was not able to recover from his injuries.

Shortly after the collision took place, a number of additional emergency services, in addition to Lees, arrived at the location where it took place. These included the Richland Township Fire Department, the East Hills Emergency Medical Service, the Richland Police Department, and DART.
