Additionally, on the morning of the service, friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects from 10:30 AM onwards.

Born amidst the scenic landscapes of El Saltillo, Jalisco, Mexico, on August 25, 1924, Lupe’s remarkable journey unfolded under the nurturing care of her parents, Valente and Catalina Herrera Santoyo. At 19, she embarked on a new chapter, venturing to the United States as a newlywed alongside her devoted husband, Adolfo Espinoza. Together, they settled in DePue, Illinois, where they raised their loving family.

Lupe’s life was an embodiment of versatile talents and boundless love. Renowned for her culinary expertise, her tamales and tortillas were a cherished delight. Her green thumb manifested in a vibrant vegetable garden and an array of resplendent flowers that adorned her surroundings. Her creativity was evident in her colorful crocheted afghans, and her resourcefulness shone through her adeptness at home repairs, including tasks like flooring installation and electrical rewiring.

A devoted animal lover, Lupe’s connection with her many cats and her cherished Pomeranian, Chico, was a testament to her compassionate soul. A crowning achievement came in 2008 when, at the age of 83, she proudly became a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Above all, Lupe’s heart brimmed with love for her family. Her truest joy was found in the symphony of laughter and affection that enveloped her in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Al Espinoza, Michael (Gail) Espinoza, Jesse Espinoza, and David Espinoza; three daughters, Mary LeBeau, Connie (Rick) Wade, and Rose Vecchi; her legacy extends to her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lupe’s legacy is a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and the beauty of a life well-lived. While her physical presence may have departed, her spirit will continue to resonate, inspiring all who knew her to find joy in life’s simplest pleasures and to cherish the bonds that define us. As the family extends their gratitude to the healthcare providers who stood by Lupe’s side, the legacy of this remarkable woman will undoubtedly endure, casting a warm and everlasting glow over those who were touched by her grace.
