Bruce Chadbourne Obituary, Death – On Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the comfort of his home, Bruce Edwin Chadbourne, age 68, passed away quietly. Bruce was born on September 19, 1955, to Gilbert and Elizabeth Williams Chadbourne, who both passed away before his birth. He received his education in Oakland, where he attended schools and graduated from Messalonskee High School in 1973. After that, on September 5, 1975, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a cable splicer.

He served in that capacity until March 16, 1981, when he was discharged with honor. Bruce was an avid automotive enthusiast who amassed a huge collection of vehicles with the goal of eventually restoring each one. But I’m afraid there simply wasn’t enough time to do everything. He worked as a carpenter and took tremendous pride in his work. He crafted his own home in addition to completing a number of other repairs and jacking camps, and he earned a great deal of respect from his customers.

But the thing that Bruce enjoyed the most was going to yard sales, and he had “The Big Eye” for finding good bargains. He had the ability to look at a heap of garbage and find valuables in it. Many people will grievously miss having Bruce in their lives. His grin, his sense of humor, his genuine concern for other people, and the fact that he never said anything negative about anyone.

Bruce is survived by his wife Becky, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage, as well as by his sister Robin, who resides in Winslow. His older brother, Lynn, as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins, passed away before him. At the Hudson Homestead, which is located at 808 Oakland Road in Belgrade, there will be a Celebration of Life on the afternoon of Sunday, June 18, 2023, from one to four o’clock.
